Who is Mrs. Turner
This is my 10th year teaching middle childhood gifted students. Fresh out of Miami University, I spent my rookie years in Gahanna where I taught American History, 7th grade Math, and Gifted Math (Algebra). After a particularly nasty Ohio winter, my husband and I decided to move to Sacramento, California where I acquired a job in Folsom. At Sutter Middle School, I taught 7th grade math, advanced math, world history, and leadership.
After the birth of our first child, Sadie, we decided to head home to Ohio and I began teaching in a self-contained 5th grade gifted classroom in Westerville. I left teaching for a couple years to stay home with my daughter and new baby boy, Dashiell. I also took this time to finish my Master's degree in Gifted Education from Ashland University.
I am so excited about being here in Grandview Heights. I am thrilled by the opportunity to really get to know the kids and be able to advocate and teach them for a good portion of their formative years. It is such a rare opportunity for a teacher to watch her students grow and be a constant throughout the roller-coaster that is middle school.
